Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier is the subject of interest from West Ham according to reports as they continue their search for a right back. 

It’s been a busy summer for the Hammers who now have former Wolves and Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui at the helm, and they have completed deals for Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug, Guido Rodriguez, Crysencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme.

Despite that the club are still frantically searching for a right back and have been linked with a number of names but nothing has materialised yet.

West Ham eye move for Trippier

The Hammers have been linked with Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kyle Walker-Peters of Southampton, whilst a move for Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui fell through last month.

However, The Telegraph report that West Ham have England international Trippier on their radar and he’s among their options, but it’s unknown yet whether he’s on the market.

The 33-year-old has one year remaining on his current deal at St James’ Park and he’s also reportedly attracting interest from Saudi clubs.

Trippier arrived at Newcastle from La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid in 2022 and has captained the side on numerous occasions, but the Magpies find themselves in a difficult position as this could be the last opportunity for them to get a decent fee for the England international.

Any fee for Trippier could potentially help Eddie Howe’s side fund a move for a right winger and Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi, who they are pushing hard to sign.

West Ham’s current right back is Vladimir Coufal, and the 31-year-old made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, but Lopetegui has clearly identified the position as an area that needs strengthening.

Coufal is currently out of contract in 2025 and it remains to be seen if the Czech international will be offered a new deal at the London Stadium.

Newcastle are in talks with Sheffield United to sign forward William Osula and have made an offer of £15m according to Sky Sports.

It’s been a quiet summer at St James’ Park with Lloyd Kelly and goalkeepers John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos arriving at the club, whilst Lewis Hall’s loan move from Chelsea became permanent.

The Magpies will need further signings if they are to secure qualification for  European football and are thought to be in the market for attacking reinforcements.

Newcastle are believed to be looking for a winger with doubts surrounding the future of Miguel Almiron, and they are thought to be admirers of West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen and Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, with a move for either viewed as highly unlikely.

However, it appears Eddie Howe’s side are close to bolstering their attacking options with Sky Sports reporting they have tabled a bid worth £15m for Osula and are in talks with Sheffield United.

The 20-year-old made 21 Premier League appearances for the Blades last season, but failed to score as they were relegated to the Championship, although he did manage to score three goals in two FA Cup appearances.

Osula, who is a Denmark under-21 international can play as a winger or a striker and that versatility is likely to appeal to Howe.

The forward joined Sheffield United’s academy back in 2018, and had a successful loan spell at Derby during the 2022/2023 campaign in which he scored five goals in 21 appearances.

It appears a deal is close and if Osula does make the switch to St James’ Park he will face stiff competition in the attacking areas.

He would likely be third choice striker behind Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson, and would be competing with the likes of Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy and Miguel Almiron if he remains at the club.

Newcastle United are prepared to make an offer worth €80m for Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler if the Spanish champions put him up for sale according to reports in Spain.

It’s been a fairly quiet transfer window for the Magpies so far with the only arrivals being Lloyd Kelly, John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos, whilst Lewis Hall’s loan move from Chelsea has been made permanent.

Eddie Howe’s men will need further reinforcements though if they are going to get back into European football next season.

Newcastle make Guler bid

The Magpies are yet to make a marquee signing and have been linked with a move for a right winger with the future of Miguel Almiron up in the air.

The likes of Noni Madueke and Jarrod Bowen have been discussed as possible options although deals for either are viewed as very unlikely.

However, a marquee signing might not be far away and Spanish outlet Defensa Central have reported that Newcastle are prepared to make an offer worth €80m for Turkish talent Guler if Madrid put him up for sale.

Guler joined the Spanish giants last summer from Fenerbahce, who are now managed by former Madrid boss Jose Mourinho for around €20m.

The 19-year-old has had to be patient in his first season in the Spanish capital and scored an impressive six goals in just12 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit.

Guler missed large parts of the season through injury and having impressed for Turkey at Euro 2024 he will be hoping to put his injury issues behind him heading into the new season.

Defensa central added that Los Blancos are big believers in Guler’s talent and if he remains at the club he’s set to be handed a more important role by Carlo Ancelotti in the new campaign.

Any move for Guler would see the Magpies break their club record which currently stands at the £63m they paid Real Sociedad for Alexander Isak.

Whilst a move for Guler would appear very unlikely, it’s clear what profile of player Howe is looking to add his squad and it will be interesting to see what moves Newcastle make in the market as the start of the season and the end of transfer window draw closer.

Newcastle are one of the clubs interested in talented Manchester City youngster Oscar Bobb according to reports.

Chelsea are ready to sell Trevoh Chalobah for between £30m-£35m according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

It was revealed on Monday that Chalobah had been left out of Chelsea’s squad for their pre-season tour of America, and it appears his days at Stamford Bridge are numbered.

The Blues have plenty of options at the back with the likes of Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Wesley Fofana, whilst Tosin Adarabioyo joined from Fulham earlier this summer.

Chelsea want £30m-£35m for Chalobah

The Blues have made it clear they want to sell Chalobah and the 25-year-old was close to joining Bayern Munich last summer but a deal failed to materialise, and he also turned down the opportunity to join Nottingham Forest.

Romano has provided an update on Chalobah’s situation and has reported the Blues are looking for £30m-£35m.

He took to X.com and said:

The omission is a surprise given Chalobah had taken part in the first two weeks of pre-season training with Enzo Maresca and the rest of the first team squad.

Reports have suggested the academy graduate feels like he’s being forced out against his will and he wants to stay and fight for his place.

Newcastle could resign midfielder Mikel Merino with Real Sociedad said to want £25m for the Spain international according to reports.

Merino, who shone for Spain as they won Euro 2024 is unlikely to remain at Sociedad and is now into the final year of his contract.

The Spaniard is attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, but news has emerged which could interest Newcastle.

Sociedad want £25m for Merino

Merino spent one season at St James’ Park after initially arriving on loan from Borussia Dortmund, but his stay was short lived as Sociedad activated his £10m release clause, and the midfielder only made 25 appearances for the Magpies.

The Daily Mirror report that the 28-year-old could be available for around £25m and he’s been strongly linked with Arsenal, whilst Atletico Madrid are said to be leading the race, with the La Liga outfit also holding an interest in Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

The Mirror add that Arsenal have made enquiries but have yet to hold any formal talks over a deal, with the Gunners keen to strengthen their options in the middle of the park as they bid to get their hands on the Premier League trophy.

That price would of course interest Newcastle and it’s likely supporters would be open to seeing their former player return, but unfortunately the reality would appear very different.

Since leaving Newcastle Merino has won the Copa Del Rey, whilst also establishing himself in the Spain set-up, and he now seems set to join one of Europe’s big hitters.

The arrival of Olise could see Gnabry’s minutes reduced, but it seems he wants to stay and fight for his place under Vincent Kompany rather than play regular football at somewhere like Newcastle.

Newcastle are one of a number of Premier League clubs who have expressed an interest in signing Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville according to Ben Jacobs. 

The Magpies are looking to strengthen in the wide areas with Miguel Almiron expected to swap St James’ Park for the Saudi Pro League, whilst the club are said to hold an interest in Jarrod Bowen and Noni Madueke, although any deal for either player would be difficult to do.

Newcastle have so far signed Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer to bolster their defensive ranks whist goalkeepers John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos have also joined the club.

Newcastle interested in Summerville

Newcastle currently have Harvey Barnes and Anthony Gordon on the left, but Almiron’s potential departure would leave them with a void to fill on the right hand side.

Jacobs has reported that the Magpies are interested in Leeds star Summerville, who is predominantly a left winger, who can also play down the right.

“There is interest in him (Summerville),” he told GIVEMESPORT.

“We know Brighton have taken a look. We know that he could still be on Chelsea’s radar, Newcastle are also interested in the player.

“So it will still be a big surprise if between now and the end of the window, given how many clubs want players in his position, it will be a surprise if somebody doesn’t make a formal offer for Summerville.

“Then ultimately, Leeds will speak to the player, and they’ll have a big decision to make. But if there are exits at Leeds, it will be because it suits all parties, rather than because Leeds are scrambling, financially speaking, or are forced to sell.”

Summerville was brilliant for Leeds last season and scored 19 league goals and provided nine assists in 43 league appearances, which saw him named Championship Player of the Year, and the winger is clearly good enough to be playing in the Premier League.
