Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann was sent off during their Friday night match against Huddersfield, which resulted in a 3-2 defeat for Watford.

The game was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, with Watford taking the lead through Asprilla in the 32nd minute, only for Rudoni to equalise for Huddersfield just before half-time.

In the second half, Huddersfield took the lead through Pearson in the 55th minute and then doubled it in the 88th minute with a goal from Harratt.

With just minutes left in the game, Watford got a freekick and Bachmann was sent forward to try and help his team score an equaliser.

However, in his desperation to get to a loose ball, he went in boot first at the defender resulting in a chest-high tackle.

The referee had no choice but to show him the second yellow card, having being already booked for arguing with the referee just moments ago.

The goalkeeper’s frustrations boiled over as he got into a bust-up with players and officials after his red card.

To make matters worse for Watford, they did not have a goalkeeper on their bench, and Leicester loanee Hamza Choudhury had to play the role of make-shift keeper for the final moments of the game.

Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann has confirmed he held talks with Manchester United this year ahead of a potential move back to the Premier League.

Bachmann was part of the Watford side who suffered relegation from the Premier League last season. Often playing second fiddle to Ben Foster, Bachmann is now the number one at Watford in the Championship.

Manchester United eventually signed Martin Dubravka on loan from Newcastle as a backup to David De Gea, after Dean Henderson was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest.

Now, Bachmann has confirmed he held talks with Manchester United this year ahead of a potential summer move.

“There have been talks with Manchester United. That’s no secret. Of course, it’s great to be associated with such a club. It was also a serious story. There were negotiations between the clubs and of course between me and the clubs,” said Bachmann, speaking to Austrian publication LAOLA1 Redaktion.

Dubravka is clearly happy to play a backup role at Manchester United, whereas Bachmann may have prioritised being a number one goalkeeper.

Playing for Manchester United is of course a dream for many players, but sometimes playing regularly is the priority for some.

Bachmann isn’t guaranteed a number one spot for his country, so playing week in week out will be necessary if he wants to be the main man for Austria.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Manchester United are in talks to sign Austrian goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann.

With Dean Henderson edging closer to a move to Nottingham Forest, as confirmed by CaughtOffside, Manchester United will be in the market for a backup to David De Gea.

Only Tom Heaton remains as a first-team goalkeeper alongside De Gea, after Lee Grant announced his retirement from playing.

After Watford suffered relegation, they may have to offload some of their senior players as they miss out on the financial boost that comes with playing in the Premier League.

De Gea was undoubtedly one of Manchester United’s best players last season, so it’s unlikely Bachmann would be brought in to become a number one.

The Austrian goalkeeper spent a large portion of his time at Watford last season as an understudy to Ben Foster, so he’s used to playing the role of a backup.

Bachmann is still only 27 years old, so would be able to provide cover for De Gea for the foreseeable future.

Manchester United are reportedly considering a move to sign Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann to replace the departing Dean Henderson.

Henderson is set to leave Man Utd for a season-long loan move to Nottingham Forest, and it seems the £4million-rated Bachmann is being eyed up to replace him as the understudy to David de Gea, according to Goal.

Bachmann has had some strong moments in goal for Watford, and it now seems he’s optimistic he could get a decent run in cup competitions for United next season, according to Goal.

The Austria international looks a solid and reliable backup option for the Red Devils, and a fee of £4m shouldn’t be too much for a club of this size to pay.

West Ham United captain Mark Noble has once again converted from penalty spot following a VAR check.

The VAR check in question was analysing whether Jarrod Bowen had been fouled when he pursued a loose ball and was impeded by Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann.

The replays showed that Bowen did indeed get to the ball before Bachmann, and that the goalkeeper had tripped Bowen who had managed to position himself between the ball and the shot stopper.

The West Ham skipper then converted from the spot, an art he has all but perfected across his career with The Irons.

According to recent reports, Ajax and Premier League side Arsenal are both interested in signing Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann.

That’s according to a recent report from The Sun, who claims both European giants have been keen to add the £15m rated shot-stopper to their ranks during this summer’s transfer window.

Bachmann, 27, joined Watford in 2017 following a free transfer from Stoke City.

Despite being with the club for four years, the Austrian goalkeeper has only managed to feature in 28 senior matches, in all competitions.

Interestingly though, although the keeper lacks top-tier experience and still has three years left on his contract, according to The Sun, both Ajax and Arsenal have expressed an interest in signing him.

It has been noted that Watford is refusing to sanction a sale for the 27-year-old because head coach Xisco has plans to use him during his side’s Premier League campaign next season.

After receiving little to no encouragement from Watford, Arsenal is now expected to turn their attention to Sheffield United’s Aaron Ramsdale.

Adding additional information to their report, The Sun claim prior to securing Paris-Saint Germain goalkeeper Alfonso Areola, David Moyes was also keen on Bachmann.
