Real Madrid could make a move for Manchester United defensive sensation Diogo Dalot next summer.

Real Madrid are always on the lookout for players who can further strengthen their squad and help them maintain their dominance in Europe. While they are unlikely to make any more changes to their squad ahead of the 2024/25 season, Los Blancos have already started to plan for the next summer window.

The Spanish giants are expected to push for a new world-class centre-back and a right-back next summer. Tottenham’s Cristian Romero is one of their targets and according to a report from GIVEMESPORT, Los Blancos are interested in the services of Diogo Dalot and could make a move for the Manchester United full-back in the summer of 2025.

After making a name for himself while coming up the ranks at FC Porto, Dalot made the move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2018 and he hasn’t looked back since. The Portuguese international has established himself as an important first-team player and has been a consistent performer for them at the back.

The 25-year-old was handed a £100,000-a-week contract last summer which runs until 2028. While United are in a comfortable position with his long-term future secure, Real Madrid could make things difficult for the Red Devils. Dalot’s exceptional rise has put him on the radar of the Spanish giants who are looking to address the right-back position next summer.

Real Madrid keen on Diogo Dalot

While Carvajal is still at the peak of his powers, he is already 32 and is not going to get any younger. With Lucas Vázquez also 33, Los Blancos need to sign a right-back for the long run. They are working on a Bosman move to bring Trent Alexander-Arnold to the club. But, with Liverpool pushing for a renewal, the team in white are looking at Dalot as another option to reinforce their backline. He is capable enough to feature on either flank and is naturally an attacking full-back, things that make him a great fit for Real Madrid.

There has been a lot of speculation around the future of Man United captain Bruno Fernandes heading into the summer transfer window as several big clubs are keeping an eye on his situation at Old Trafford. 

The Portuguese star is believed to be happy at the Manchester club, but with a contract expiring in 2026, the 29-year-old is likely to want a new deal soon.

With just two years remaining on his Man United contract, several big European clubs have become interested in the midfielder.

According to O Jogo via The Mirror, Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho, has already opened talks with Bayern Munich over a potential move this summer. Barcelona are also monitoring his situation and could make a move of their own, but this is unlikely given the Catalan club’s financial situation.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Man United are prepared to listen to offers for the majority of their first-team squad this summer and a big offer could tempt the Premier League giants into parting ways with their captain as he could help fund new additions to their squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Should Fernandes leave Man United this summer, that would require the Red Devils to choose a new captain and according to Steve Bates, the Manchester club’s dressing room view Diogo Dalot as captain material and the 25-year-old would be a contender if a decision needed to be made.

The full-back was one of United’s best players this season and continues to improve at Old Trafford.

The captain’s armband could see Dalot go to another level again, but he will only be a contender for it should Fernandes leave the FA Cup champions over the coming months.

Diogo Dalot broke the deadlock for the Red Devils against Brighton at the Amex Stadium before Rasmus Hojlund sealed the win late on.

Erik ten Hag’s side look set for their worst-ever finish in a Premier League season as they currently sit in 8th place in the table.

Despite this, Manchester United travelled to Brighton looking to finish the season on a positive note as they prepare for a very important summer.

After struggling to break down Brighton’s defence, the visitors finally got their reward with Dalot sliding the ball underneath the goalkeeper.

Hojlund then grabbed his own late on after powering into the box before finishing with his weak foot.

Following a confrontation with Diogo Dalot, Rasmus Hojlund reportedly lodged a complaint against Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes with Erik ten Hag.

Hojlund’s complaints were centered on his apparent lack of involvement in the team’s gameplay.

He particularly felt that he was being ignored by Bruno Fernandes in attack.

Tensions between Hojlund and Dalot reportedly increased following Man United’s Champions League loss to FC Copenhagen in November, according to Daily Mail.

During the rift between Hojlund and Dalot, the club captain Fernandes favoured his compatriot Dalot.

Hojlund expressed his worries to ten Hag and his coaching team in an attempt to find a solution.

However, because the staff did not want to step in, he was urged to resolve the issues in a face-to-face conversation with Dalot.

Following their discussions, the two made up, and Fernandes also made amends to Hojlund in order to get the situation back to normal.

Man United were 2-1 winners over Aston Villa on Sunday and one player who played a key role in the win has received praise from his manager Erik ten Hag. 

Scott McTominay scored the late winner after latching onto a wonderful cross from Diogo Dalot. The Portuguese star has been in good form recently and once again showed his worth at Villa Park.

Erik ten Hag was full of praise for Dalot after the match and has said that the full-back is developing well this season.

“Everyone gets criticism but he is a fantastic player who is developing very well,” the Dutch coach said about the defender via Fabrizio Romano.

“He can play in so many positions and he is improving on crosses.

“He can score and his defending is improving so I am very pleased with him.”

Dalot had some big moments against Villa Park on Sunday and this followed a very impressive display against West Ham last weekend. The 24-year-old has performed well since the turn of the year and has become a key member of the United squad for Ten Hag.

The Portuguese star has often been criticised for his performances in the past but at present, his role in the team is not a worry and  Ten Hag is confident that the Man United star will continue to get better.

Man United have taken the lead in their FA Cup clash with Wigan courtesy of a beautiful goal from defender Diogo Dalot. 

The Premier League club have been the better of the two teams so far, despite the home side giving Erik ten Hag’s team a scare early on in the clash.

The goal came after 22 minutes and it was a beauty from Dalot. The Portuguese full-back received a pass from Marcus Rashford before curling the ball into the bottom right corner.

The Red Devils will hope to kick on from here and get the tie over with as fast as possible.

Manchester United fans believe Darwin Nunez should have been sent off during the first half of the match. 

Liverpool went into the game as massive favourites having beaten them 7-0 last time around.

But the second string United team managed to earn a draw at Anfield which will no doubt be considered a great result for them.

During the first half, Nunez barged into Tottenham defender Jonny Evans which was deemed a bookable offense by referee Michael Oliver.

But the Uruguayan could have been easily sent off for his reaction to the foul. Immediately after the referee blew the whistle for a foul, he booted the ball far away, which could have easily been a yellow card.

Meanwhile, in the 94th minute, Dalot picked up a yellow for dissent as he protested the referee’s decision of a throw-in to Liverpool. And while the matter seemed to have settled, seconds later he was shown a second yellow for dissent in bizarre circumstances.

It resulted in fans calling out the referee for his alleged biasness towards Liverpool.
