Liverpool’s £103 million offer rejected for 23-year-old Mo Salah replacement

Liverpool made a move for Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo but it has been rejected by the Spanish club’s board.

With Jurgen Klopp leaving the club in the summer, the Reds are concerned about three of their main players.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are about to enter the last 12 months of their contract at the club.

Should any of them decide to leave, the Reds have to make a plan to replace them.

The Premier League club have moved ahead with their interest in Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, however, the Spanish club have no interest in selling their prized asset.

Fichajes claims that although the Reds were willing to spend an incredible €120 million (£103 million) on Rodrygo, Madrid refused to entertain their offers since the board like him a lot at the Bernabéu.

Despite being restricted to substitute appearances under Carlo Ancelotti, Rodrygo has scored 17 goals and provided nine assists this season in all competitions.

Rodrygo to LIverpool?

Given that Darwin Nunez cost Liverpool £85 million, the highest the Reds have ever paid for a player, they may be inclined to attempt again in what would be a club record deal.

It would be surprising to see the Reds spend a huge part of their transfer budget on one player.

Liverpool need to make reinforcements to their midfield and defense this summer.

Liverpool need new signings this summer

The Reds need a new central defender with Joel Matip expected to leave the club soon.

Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara is heading out of Anfield soon so that makes it another position that needs to be addressed.

The Premier League club’s inconsistency at the left-back position is another cause of concern for the club.

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid are willing to let Rodrygo leave with the impending arrival of Kylian Mbappe at the club but Rodrygo is good enough to be a worthy replacement of Salah at Liverpool.
