Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton are all interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp according to reports.

Spurs are looking to sell a number of players this summer and they are reportedly prepared to let Skipp go as he searches for more regular first team football.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have already signed midfielders Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall which means Skipp has fallen further down the pecking order.

Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton interested in Skipp

The 23-year-old has been at the club since the age of eight and made 24 appearances for Spurs last season, but The Telegraph have reported the north London club are prepared to let the midfielder go with all three promoted clubs interested in securing his services.

Leicester lost star man Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea and a move to the King Power would see him link up with former team-mate Harry Winks, whilst Ipswich and Southampton are looking to strengthen their squads in an attempt to beat the drop.

Skipp is attracting interest from three Premier League clubs.

Skipp has three years remaining on his contract and has made 106 appearances for Spurs, scoring just once, whilst he had a successful loan spell at Norwich during the 2020/2021 season.

The midfielder isn’t the only player who could be leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Emerson Royal and Richarlison possibly on their way out as well.

Spurs are in talks with AC Milan over the transfer of Royal, whilst Saudi side Al-Ahli have expressed interest in Richarlison, although they are yet to make a bid for the Brazilian.

In terms of incomings Postecoglou’s side appear to be making some progress in their pursuit of Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke who scored 19 Premier League goals last season.

Fabrizio Romano has stated that talks are underway with the Cherries and Solanke has given the green light to the move.

Leeds United have been warned they only have seven days to complete a deal for Blackburn Rovers attacking midfielder Sammie Szmodics according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Daniel Farke’s side are looking to strengthen their squad to make sure they don’t miss out on promotion for the second consecutive season.

The Whites will be hoping to keep hold of as many of their star players as possible, but have already lost talented teenager Archie Gray to Tottenham, whilst Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto have both been linked with moves to the Premier League.

Blackburn set Szmodics deadline

With the departure of Gray and the possibility of other stars leaving, Leeds could find themselves in a position where they have a sizeable transfer budget in which to strengthen their squad.

TalkSPORT reported that Leeds have recently entered the race for Szmodics, who is also attracting interest from Premier League new boys Ipswich.

Szmodics is attracting interest from Leeds and Ipswich.

In fact the Tractor Boys are understood to have had an offer of £6m plus add ons rejected for the 28-year-old who was top scorer in the Championship last season with 27 goals.

However, Nixon has reported that if any potential suitors want to sign the Republic of Ireland international they need to do so by the end of the month so Blackburn have time to sign a replacement.

Szmodics is hot property and it would be a coup if Leeds could beat Ipswich to his signature, and with Joel Piroe they would have two proven goal scorers at Championship level who have more than enough goals in them to fire Leeds back to the Premier League.

The attacking midfielder still has two years left on his contract with the option of a further year so Blackburn don’t need to sell their star man on the cheap.

West Ham’s Ben Johnson has agreed to join newly promoted Ipswich Town when his contract expires at the end of the month according to The Times.

Johnson’s future has been a constant topic of conversation, and the 24-year-old reportedly turned down a new five year contract from the Hammers.

It now appears Ipswich are closing in on a deal for Johnson, having already agreed a club record deal worth up to £22.5m with Chelsea for Omari Hutchinson.

Johnson closes in on Ipswich move

According to The Times Johnson has agreed a four year deal with The Tractor Boys worth £60,000 per week, and will sign for the club when his West Ham contract expires at the end of the month.

Johnson is believed to have turned down a new contract at the London Stadium because he wants to pursues more regular first team football, despite Julen Lopetegui wanting to keep him.

The right back came through the ranks at West Ham and has made 109 appearances for the Hammers, scoring two goals and was part of the squad which won the Europa Conference League under David Moyes.

West Ham have been linked with bringing Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka in as a replacement, with United open to letting the former Crystal Palace man leave this summer.

The Hammers have already signed Brazilian teenager Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras for £25.5m with the 18-year-old signing a five year contract.

Lopetegui will be looking to further strengthen his squad, with the club believed to be targeting defensive reinforcements.

West Ham have identified Wolves captain Max Kilman as a target, and saw an opening offer of £30m plus add-ons rejected with the Molineux outfit holding out for £45m, whilst they are reportedly interested in Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters as the Hammers look to strengthen in the full back areas.

Ipswich Town have agreed a deal worth up to £22.5m with Chelsea for winger Omari Hutchinson.

The Tractor Boys are back in the Premier League for the first time in over 20 years, and with the future of manager Kieran McKenna sorted they are now setting about strengthening their squad.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Portman Road and was a key part of the side that won promotion, and he’s now on the brink of making his move permanent.

Ipswich agree deal with Chelsea for Hutchinson

Fabrizio Romano has taken to X.com to confirm the deal, which will be a club record transfer for Ipswich.

He said:

“Omari Hutchinson to Ipswich Town on permanent deal from Chelsea, here we go!

“Agreement in place for fee around £22m add-ons included, as expected.

“Chelsea will NOT have buy back clause but there will be sell-on clause. Exclusive story, confirmed.”

Chelsea signed Hutchinson on a free from rivals Arsenal in the summer of 2022,  and he started in the club’s academy where he impressed and eventually went on to make his debut under Graham Potter.

Hutchinson made two appearances for the first team in total and was sent on loan to Championship outfit Ipswich last season, where he initially started on the bench, before establishing himself as a key player.

The winger scored ten goals and provided six assists in 44 Championship appearances, and was named Ipswich’s Young Player of the Year at their end of season awards.

Hutchinson returned to Chelsea earlier this summer with just one year left on his deal, but the club exercised an option to extend it by a year.

The youngster had been attracting interest from German side Stuttgart as well as Dutch giants Ajax and Feyenoord, but has decided to make Ipswich his next home.

As part of the deal Arsenal will receive some money as there was a sell on clause inserted into the deal when Hutchinson joined Chelsea.

Chelsea won’t loan out Omari Hutchinson this summer and are asking for £25m-£30m with several clubs interested, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Hutchinson joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2022, and started in the under-21 side, before making two appearances for the first team under Graham Potter.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Ipswich, where he thrived and played a key role for the Tractor Boys as they won promotion to the Premier League.

Chelsea want £30m for Hutchinson

Hutchinson scored ten goals and provided six assists in 44 Championship appearances and was a mainstay in Kieran McKenna’s side.

The winger was named Championship Player of the Month for February, and also won the Ipswich Player of the Month on three separate occasions.

Hutchison returned to Chelsea with just one year left on his deal, but the Blues exercised an option to extend it by a year until 2026.

The youngster had been expected to go out on loan again, but it now appears Chelsea will look to cash in this summer.

Romano took to X.com to confirm Hutchinson would only be leaving Chelsea on a permanent basis this summer, with the club looking for around £25m-£30m.

He said:

“EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea won’t loan out Omari Hutchinson again this summer, permanent deal, only way.

“#CFC would only consider bids around £25/30m for Omari, understand Stuttgart are pushing a lot to sign him, favourites, with more clubs in PL, Ajax and Feyenoord also keen.”

Ipswich are reportedly prepared to offer £20m for Hutchinson who is believed to be open to a return to Portman Road.
The winger was also a guest of Stuttgart at their final game of the Bundesliga season, with the German outfit able to offer Champions League football.
Chelsea are stacked in the wide areas with the likes of Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling on their books, not to mention the arrival of South American talents Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian in 2025.

Former Aston Villa striker turned pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has expressed his preference for seeing Ipswich Town get promoted ahead of Leeds United in the Championship.

Despite Ipswich Town’s strong start to the campaign, their journey to promotion alongside Leicester City has faced stiff competition from Leeds United and Southampton.

With Leicester City solidifying their position at the top of the table, the race for the second promotion spot has intensified between Leeds United, Ipswich Town, and Southampton.

Currently, Leeds United and Ipswich Town are tied on points at 69, with Leeds holding a superior goal difference, while Southampton trails closely behind by two points in fourth place.

Speaking on TalkSport, Agbonlahor openly shared his choice for the Championship promotion, favouring Ipswich Town over Leeds United.

Agbonlahor highlighted the sentiment among fans, stating that many prefer Ipswich Town’s promotion due to their compelling story and potential achievement of back-to-back promotions.

He told talkSPORT: “I’d prefer if Ipswich went up before Leeds, Al.

“Under [Marcelo] Bielsa, they were losing 6-0 every game; it was like a basketball game! He was going man-for-man with Marcus Rashford; he [Bielsa] had Luke Ayling at right-back. Rashford would be clean through, spinning, and score.

“Everyone I speak to, they are like, ‘yeah, I want Ipswich to come up’. They’re people’s second team, and the story of getting promoted two years in a row — imagine that.”

Agbonlahor backs Ipswich for promotion

As the Championship promotion race heats up, all three teams are in formidable form. Leeds United has won all of their last five games, while Ipswich Town has secured three victories, one draw, and one defeat.

Southampton has also won three matches but suffered two losses during the same period.

With the promotion battle intensifying, the final stretch of the season promises to be highly competitive, with each team vying for a coveted spot in the Premier League.
