But, a report from Yorkshire Evening Post suggests Rak-Sakyi is unlikely to make the move to Leeds. The Championship outfit are all set to drop their interest in his services as they can’t guarantee him enough game time from the start because of the existing options in their squad.

Since the 21-year-old is not considered an important part of Crystal Palace’s first-team, they are willing to negotiate his departure. But, he won’t be moving to Leeds. At this point, Sheffield United are front-runners for his services and it won’t be a surprise if he ends up joining them before the end of the window.

Leeds have agreed a deal with Crystal Palace to sign winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan but fellow Championship clubs Sheffield United and Hull City remain in the race according to Sky Sports.

The 21-year-old made just eight appearances in all competitions for the Eagles last season as they enjoyed a resurgence over the second half of the campaign under Oliver Glasner and secured a top half finish.

Rak-Sakyi, who is under contract until 2027 was left out of the Palace squad for their tour pre-season tour of America and it’s almost certain his short term future lies away from Selhurst Park.

Leeds agree terms for Rak-Sakyi loan

Rak-Sakyi has been at Palace since the age of 16 and he’s come through the ranks to feature for the first team.

However, regular minutes in the first team have been few and far between for the winger and with the signings of Daichi Kamada and Ismaila Sarr it pushes him further down the pecking order.

Palace reportedly want to send Rak-Sakyi out on loan to play regular football and have earmarked the Championship as their preferred destination.

Sky Sports have reported that Leeds, Sheffield United and Hull City have all agreed season long loan deals with Palace, but the player has yet to decide who he wants to join.

Rak-Sakyi is expected to spend the coming season on loan in the Championship.

Leeds are in need of reinforcements in the wide areas after losing Crysencio Summerville to West Ham and Daniel Farke will desperately be hoping he can guide the club to promotion next season, having lost to Southampton in the play-off final.

Although Rak-Sakyi hasn’t played in the Championship before he had a successful loan spell with Charlton in League One during the 2022/2023 campaign, scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists in 43 appearances.

The Whites have got money to spend following the sales of Summerville and Archie Gray, but it’s important they spend it wisely.

Leeds host Portsmouth on Saturday lunchtime in their opening game of the season and they will very much hope it’s second time lucky in regards to promotion.

With three weeks left until the transfer window closes for business, there’s every chance that a handful more will bid the club farewell too.

Daniel Farke will be hoping that the all whites can go one better, even if they can’t call upon the likes of Crysencio Summerville, who recently joined West Ham.

They have at least agreed terms with a winger who could be considered his replacement, however.

According to Sky Sports, they aren’t favourites for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace but are still in the running.

Sheffield United are credited with being in pole position to sign the player on loan, and Hull have also agreed terms for him, though Leeds shouldn’t feel as if the game is already up because you never say never in football.

Crystal Palace ace Jesurun Rak-Sakyi have agreed to join Sheffield United on loan, according to Football Insider.

The 21-year-old had attracted interest from several clubs, including Leeds United, Hull City, QPR, and Watford. However, it appears that Sheffield United have won the race to secure his services for the upcoming season.

He is a versatile attacker who primarily plays as a right-winger but can also operate on the left wing or as an attacking midfielder. His ability to adapt to various attacking roles makes him a valuable asset.

Rak-Sakyi joined Crystal Palace from Charlton last summer. In his debut season, he made 11 appearances, with eight coming for the first team.

He featured six times in the Premier League, coming off the bench in all of them, and played two games in the League Cup, starting both.

Despite failing to score or assist for the seniors, he did make a significant impact at the U21 level, scoring four goals and providing one assist in just three appearances.

Leeds United are interested in signing Jonathan Rowe from Norwich City this summer.

The Whites have been looking for new players after recently losing Crysencio Summerville to West Ham United, having already lost Archie Gray to Tottenham earlier.

Their players have been linked with a move away from Elland Road after they failed to win promotion to the Premier League.

Their interest in Rowe is genuine, however, the club knows that the deal will be difficult to complete for the Norwich star and they have identified their back up option in case they fail to sign him.

Norwich have already sold Gabriel Sara to Galatasaray and they are not in any desperate need to sell any more players.

Dean Henderson has admitted on social media that he’s trying to persuade a Crystal Palace teammate to join Sheffield United.

Henderson became a Bramhall Lane favourite during a two-year loan spell from Manchester United between 2018 and 2020, helping the Blades win promotion and then finish comfortably in ninth place in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has since spent time with Nottingham Forest, before joining Crystal Palace last summer, where he made 20 appearances across all competitions last season.

His stock was incredibly high upon returning to Selhurst Park, but the winger struggled to make an impact last season, restricted to just eight senior appearances.

As a result, several clubs in Europe and England are rumoured to be pursuing the 21-year-old, including Sheffield United.

Blades supporters seem keen on the idea of signing the five-time England youth international, with one fan taking to X (formerly Twitter) to ask if Henderson can ‘sell the club’ to Rak-Sakyi.

Surprisingly, that post got a response from Henderson himself, who simply wrote: “I have.”

Crystal Palace youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is a loan target for a number of clubs in England and Europe this summer, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has, to date, made just 10 senior appearances for the Eagles but is very highly thought of, boasting a record of 32 goals and 16 assists in 57 appearances for the club’s U18 and U21 teams combined.

At international level, Rak-Sakyi has one goal in five caps for England’s U20 side.

However, he may well feel like his future lies away from Selhurst Park after seeing his opportunities to impress limited, especially following the arrival of Oliver Glasner.

The 21-year-old is also wanted by other clubs, but Leeds’ strong interest sees them among the favourites for the attacker’s signature.

Spending last season on loan with Charlton, the young right winger enjoyed an excellent individual campaign. Rak-Sakyi scored 15 goals and registered nine assists in 49 games in all competitions. He has since returned to Selhurst Park but is expected to move again before the start of the season.

Southampton have enquired about Crystal Palace talent Jesurun Rak-Sakyi ahead of the new season as the Eagles consider allowing the 21-year-old to leave Selhurst Park.

The winger’s future is up in the air at present as several clubs in England monitor his situation at Palace.

According to the Patreon of journalist Alan Nixon, newly promoted Premier League outfit Southampton have made a shock inquiry to sign Rak-Sakyi. The Saints have asked for the winger on loan for the upcoming season but it remains to be seen if the London club will go for that as they will not want to loan players to an English top-flight rival.

If Southampton are to lure the player away from Selhurst Park, it will need to be some sort of sale. Whether that be a permanent transfer or a loan with a buy option attached to it.

Crystal Palace will not want to lose the highly-rated talent but coming off the back of a poor season, which was packed with injuries, it seems the Eagles are considering a sale.

With Michael Olise leaving Crystal Palace this summer, Oliver Glasner should put some faith in Rak-Sakyi as the 21-year-old has the potential to be a top talent.

A hamstring injury destroyed his 2023/24 campaign and the youngster will want to prove himself off the back of it. The winger has a contract at Selhurst Park until 2027, therefore, the Eagles are in no rush to sell him.

Should things not work out during the upcoming campaign, then it is fair should Palace decide to move on from Rak-Sakyi, but it would be smarter for the Premier League club to give the player another chance.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi will have to bide his time at Crystal Palace as the youngster is nowhere near the starting 11 at Selhurst Park at present

The 21-year-old was handed 130 minutes of senior team action this season by former Palace manager Roy Hodgson but the winger has not got a look in since Oliver Glasner has been in charge.

The Austrian coach has steered Crystal Palace away from the Premier League’s relegation zone in recent weeks with wins over Liverpool and West Ham. That has coincided with the return of star man Michael Olise who played a big part in the 5-2 over the Hammers last weekend.

The winger is a certain starter at Selhurst Park alongside Eberechi Eze and Mateta. Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp are Glasner’s backup options, which leaves little room for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

When asked about the 21-year-old’s chances of playing at his press conference on Tuesday, Glasner responded by indicating that Rak-Sakyi is pretty far down the pecking order.
