This shows that the Premier League club are looking at attacking options behind the scenes as Arne Slot may not be totally convinced by starting Darwin Nunez as his striker throughout the campaign.

The 2024/25 season is massive for the Uruguay international’s future at Anfield as it is now time for the player to step up and start adding goals to the end of some of the good play he has already shown.

Liverpool have been quiet in the summer transfer window but as the Premier League season edges closer, they are making moves to strengthen their squad.

Even though Arne Slot has not made any new signings at the club since succeeding Jurgen Klopp, he is expected to make additions to the squad before the end of the transfer window.

The Reds are making their moves as their widely reported interest in Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi has shown that they are keen on adding a new midfielder to their squad.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool were interested in signing Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier but the player has turned down a move to Anfield as he is interested in staying in Germany.

Beier has decided to continue his career in the Bundesliga for the time being and made up his mind on playing for Borussia Dortmund.

The player is already in talks with the Champions League finalists and soon, the club will start dealing with Hoffenheim to sign the 21-year-old attacker.

August is set to be a busy month for Liverpool and it is being reported that the Reds have been monitoring TSG Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier for weeks.

The Merseyside club have yet to add a new player to their ranks ahead of the 2024/25 campaign and are currently pushing for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

Arne Slot is keen to add a new number six to his squad and the Euro 2024 winner is Liverpool’s main focus at present.

Behind the scenes, the Premier League club have been keeping an eye on the market for opportunities and according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool have been monitoring Beier for weeks and talks have even occurred over recent days regarding the transfer of the German international.

The 21-year-old had a very impressive campaign in the Bundesliga last season scoring 16 goals and assisting a further three across 33 league games.

That has caught the attention of several clubs around Europe but despite Liverpool’s interest in the forward, Beier looks set to remain in Germany for the near future.

Chelsea and Aston Villa have been linked with a move for the TSG Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier.

The 21-year-old had an impressive season last year, scoring 16 goals in all competitions.

He could prove to be a quality acquisition for the two English clubs but they will face competition from Borussia Dortmund and Juventus as well.

According to Florian Plettenberg, the striker is valued at around €25-30 million. Chelsea and Aston Villa certainly have the financial resources to get the deal done.

Chelsea need to bring in a reliable goal scorer who can lead the line for them. Nicolas Jackson has been quite underwhelming for them since joining the club from Villarreal and the Blues need an upgrade. The 21-year-old German striker would be a superb long-term investment for them and he could transform them in the final third.

West Ham United could be on the verge of completing a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug.

The Hammers have enjoyed a busy summer transfer window. The club have already made four signings, including bringing in Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United. Goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, winger Luis Guilherme and centre-back Max Kilman make up Julen Lopetegui’s other additions.

Despite spending £85 million (TM), the Hammers aren’t done there. Looking to bring in a proven goalscorer to finally relieve the pressure on Michail Antonio, Lopetegui is targeting an ambitious move for Germany international Fullkrug.

The 31-year-old had an excellent season for Dortmund scoring 16 goals in 46 games in all competitions. Chelsea’s are still in the market for a new striker ahead of the 2024/25 campaign and the Blues remain interested in Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier.

The German striker had an impressive season last time around in the Bundesliga as he produced 16 goals and three assists across 33 matches. That earned him a place in the German squad for Euro 2024 and it has also caught the attention of several clubs this summer.

Sources have told CaughtOffside that Chelsea remain interested in Beier and have made an opening offer of around €20m to Hoffenheim for their striker. The Bundesliga club have rejected this proposal as they will demand that the 21-year-old’s €30m release clause be matched if they are to part ways with the player.

The West London club have been linked to numerous forwards during the current transfer window so it remains to be seen if they will activate the German star’s clause.

If the English outfit do go this path, the plan is to offer the German forward a six-year contract until 2030.

Beier would be a great signing for Chelsea and the 21-year-old also fits the age profile that the Premier League giants have been recruiting over recent transfer windows.

Chelsea have submitted an offer for Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Blues have been active in the window so far with seven new faces coming through the door, whilst goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen and teenage defender Aaron Anselmino are set to complete their moves to the club.

Despite signing Marc Guiu from Barcelona the Stamford Bridge outfit are reportedly still in the market for a striker to compete with Nicolas Jackson, and have been strongly linked with Victor Osimhen again this week.

Chelsea submit offer for Beier

The Blues, who are currently on their pre-season tour of America have been linked with a host of names across Europe as they look for a new striker.

Reports on Tuesday had suggested Chelsea and Napoli are in talks over a potential swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Osimhen, but they have reportedly made an offer for another striker.

Sky Germany’s Plettenberg has reported that Chelsea and Aston Villa have submitted “concrete” offers for 21-year-old Beier who has a release clause of £25m.

He took to X.com and said:

Juventus have joined the race to sign Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier, according to reports.

The 21-year-old raised eyebrows last season as he notched 16 goals and three assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances, helping Die Kraichgauer finish seventh in the table, securing Europa League qualification in the process.

Beier’s form earned him his senior debut for the Germany national team in a 0-0 draw with Ukraine, while he was also included in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for Euro 2024, coming off the bench for 25 minutes of their 1-1 draw with Switzerland in the group stage.

A number of top clubs have also been placed on high alert, with Florian Plettenberg reporting a month ago that Chelsea were ‘one of several’ Premier League sides keeping tabs on the striker.

Now, German outlet Bild have reported that Juventus have added Beier to their shortlist, but the Old Lady will face competition from Liverpool, Man Utd, Aston Villa and Brighton, alongside Chelsea.

Beier was understood to have a €32.5m release clause earlier this summer, but that has now expired with his asking price now expected to rise considerably as a result.

Although Beier was undoubtedly impressive in 2024/25, the striker undoubtedly lacks experience with just 46 senior games under his belt for Hoffenheim, alongside 68 appearances — notching 15 goals and seven assists — during a two-year loan spell with 2. Bundesliga outfit Hannover.

Chelsea have not given up on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen despite Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of the 25-year-old ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The West London club have been long-term admirers of the Nigeria star but their interest went quiet over recent weeks due to Napoli’s reluctance to sell below his €130m release clause.

Osimhen is expected to leave the Serie A club during the current transfer window and PSG are the main club pushing for his arrival. According to GOAL’s Marc Mechenoua, the Ligue 1 champions are in talks with Napoli over the striker as they try to reach a compromise on the player’s transfer fee.

Should they find a way to get the €130m fee decreased, Chelsea could step in and try and hijack the deal for the striker, as sources have told CaughtOffside that the Blues have not given up on the 25-year-old and are still interested in the Nigerian talent.

The Premier League club are aware that PSG are ahead of them in the race but the London club still believe they can get a deal done.

This is why Chelsea have yet to bid for any of their alternative targets.

The Blues will use the sales of Romelu Lukaku and Armando Broja to fund a move for Osimhen, with both forwards expected to depart Stamford Bridge before the new season gets underway.
