Wolves are mulling over including Dan Bentley in a part exchange deal to sign Arsenal shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale.

Wolverhampton Wanderers want to reinforce their goalkeeping position before the start of next season and they have their eyes set on Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale. According to a report from Football Insider, Wolves are considering using Dan Bentley in a deal to bring the English international to the club.

David Raya’s arrival at Arsenal saw Ramsdale get reduced to the bench. He played a backup role last season after being their number one for years. The 26-year-old has no intentions of sitting on the bench next season and he is pushing for a move away from the club.

While he still has two years left on his deal at the North London club, they are not looking to stand in his way. Mikel Arteta’s team are ready to sanction his departure but they want in excess of £30 million to sell the English goalkeeper. With his future at the club uncertain, the Gunners have been looking to sign Dan Bentley from Wolves to be their second choice. The 31-year-old was a part of their academy back in the day and they feel he could be a great addition to their team.

Aaron Ramsdale to leave Arsenal?

Aaron Ramsdale needs a fresh start

While Wolves are ready to sell Jose Sa and replace him with Ramsdale, the £30 million asking price could prove to be very difficult for them. With the Gunners keen on Bentley’s signature, Wolves are thinking about making him a part of their deal. While Arsenal would welcome the addition, it is unlikely to have any effect on the asking price.

The North London club’s initial offer of £50,000 for Bentley was turned down. While they were planning to make a fresh £300,000 offer, with Wolves looking to make him a part of the Ramsdale deal, it will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is expected to leave the club this summer after losing his place in the starting line up.

Mikel Arteta made Spanish goalkeeper David Raya his number one choice at the Emirates Stadium last season which moved Ramsdale to the bench.

The England international has only started one Premier League match since December and he is now thinking about leaving the Gunners for more playing time elsewhere.

The North Londoners have shown interest in signing Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley this summer in order to sign a new goalkeeper as their number two behind Raya since Ramsdale is sooner or later leaving the club.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal and Wolves could be involved in a swap deal involving their goalkeepers.

Wolves could lose first choice goalkeeper Jose Sa this summer as interest has increased in his services and that could offer the Gunners and the Midlands club a chance to make a swap deal.

Gary O’Neil’s team could use Bentley along with cash and offer that to Arsenal to sign Ramsdale.

Aaron Ramsdale Arsenal
Aaron Ramsdale is heading out of Arsenal this summer.

The English goalkeeper wants to play regularly and that is something he cannot get under Arteta at Arsenal.

The Gunners have made the loan signing of Raya permanent this summer which shows that the goalkeeper is part of their long term plans.

Arteta is an admirer of how Raya plays from the back and helps the team in building attacks.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper showed his quality last season for the Gunners and helped the defense keep 16 clean sheets in the league.

Aaron Ramsdale needs to leave Arsenal for better opportunities

Ramsdale has to move away from Arsenal this summer as spending time on the bench is also hurting his chances to become the number one goalkeeper for England as well.

He wasn’t dropped from the Arsenal starting line up because he was playing poorly but because Arteta’s playing style needed another goalkeeper.

Ramsdale would be a fine addition to any Premier League club this summer and with the player desperate to move away from Arsenal, he could be available in a bargain deal.

Arsenal have not had a particularly busy summer transfer window.

The Gunners have confirmed just two permanent signings — defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and former loanee David Raya from Brentford.

However, according to a recent report from TeamNewsAndTix, Mikel Arteta’s side are preparing to make a blockbuster offer to land Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

Arsenal to include Aaron Ramsdale in offer for Bruno Guimaraes

Rumoured to be willing to include out-of-favour shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale in a player-plus-cash offer, Arsenal are set to get creative in their pursuit of Brazil’s Guimaraes.

“The clubs aren’t really clear on it but they just feel that Newcastle aren’t out of the woods in terms of finances,” the outlet said.

“[We were] initially told that by someone at Arsenal and, if they’re not, we could be looking at a deal with them for Bruno and Ramsdale going the other way.”

Arsenal could include Aaron Ramsdale in an offer to sign Bruno Guimaraes.

Although the Magpies have a host of goalkeepers on their books — none of John Ruddy, Mark Gillespie, Martin Dubravka, Odysseas Vlachodimos and Nick Pope represent the same level of quality Ramsdale has.

Had it not have been for an impressive breakthrough season for Raya, Ramsdale would still be Arteta’s first-choice keeper but as things have turned out, the Englishman is set to pursue a new club in order to play more senior minutes.

West Ham’s smart Summerville deal

Crysencio Summerville will undergo his medical at West Ham today. The deal is almost done, and we are just waiting for the signing of all documents.

Brighton were interested but never reached an agreement for Crysencio.

West Ham did an excellent job behind the scenes in June and then presented a formal bid almost 10 days ago, as exclusively revealed.

The deal is £25m plus add-ons and is a very smart move from the Hammers.

No updates on Alvarez until after the Olympics

There’s no substantial update yet on Julian Alvarez and nothing to say before the end of the Olympics.

He wants to play more and Man City want to keep Julian, but that remains the same story as I revealed in June.

After the Olympics, Julian and his agents will talk to Man City and we will see if there are any more developments.

Liverpool still interested in Anthony Gordon

I’m receiving lots of questions on Anthony Gordon guys, but I was only told that Liverpool discussed several potential swap deals in June, not the specific values that have been mentioned elsewhere in the media.

I don’t have confirmation on the numbers being talked about but, for sure Liverpool wanted Gordon and they remain interested in the player, considering him an excellent winger.

Let’s see what Liverpool will do this month, but appreciation for Gordon remains; I’m 100% sure of that.

Manchester United’s third ‘here we go’ of the summer is…

The third ‘here we go’ for Manchester United is Chido Obi-Martin, the striker born in 2007 and who was at Arsenal doing incredible things in their academy. A proper goal machine.

A super talented striker and first of all, let me say that this kind of deal is something that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and all the people at the club are planning to do for the present and future; signing top talents early on in their careers.

We have to be fair and say that Arsenal made a very big proposal to the player in terms of money, but the decision was to turn it down and explore other options, including in Germany.

As soon as the deal is official, we’re going to reveal some names of clubs that really tried to sign him and what kind of proposals they made in terms of the project, but now the important news is that Manchester United have signed Chido.

Sticking with Manchester United, I can confirm that Noussair Mazraoui, the right-back, is also waiting for the Red Devils, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka must leave before Mazraoui will be allowed to join.

There were other possibilities, even in the recent days, to consider, but the player keeps repeating he wants to wait for Manchester United. He agreed on personal terms and believes this is the best opportunity for him. He trusts the project. He trusts the manager.

He wants to feel important after difficulties at Bayern, because he’s never been a regular starter.

Also, no bids yet for Scott McTominay.

Despite rumours that Fulham have offered £30m for his services, in the last 24h they were busy with the documents on the Smith-Rowe deal and with new signing, Cuenca, from Villarreal – as exclusively revealed.

McTominay has always been appreciated and for sure Marco Silva likes him a lot, but there’s still no formal bid on the table.

João Neves moving to Paris Saint-Germain doesn’t change a lot regarding Man United and Manuel Ugarte.

United already wanted Ugarte and PSG already agreed to sell him… but they want the right proposal and the right package, and Man United have not offered that at the moment.

Ugarte and Amrabat remain two names on Man United’s list for their midfield.

Atleti and Chelsea on the verge of Conor Gallagher agreement

It’s important to say that Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have almost agreed a fee for Conor Gallagher. It’s imminent and all about final details, and Atleti are waiting for the green light from the player.

As always, you need a player to approve the move, but in this case, even more so, because Conor Gallagher only has one year left on his contract and so has a lot of power in negotiations.

Atletico will not wait forever, so the timing will also be important, but for sure, Chelsea and Atletico are ready to do business.

Chelsea consider it a good solution because they don’t want to lose the player on a free and also they avoid any English club signing him on a free transfer too.

Let’s see what Conor Gallagher decides to do.

Raphinha’s definitive answer to Saudi Pro League representatives

We know that Barcelona are busy with trying to sign Nico Williams and Dani Olmo because, as I told you over the weekend, there have been contacts between Barcelona and Dani Olmo’s agents as well as between Barcelona and Leipzig.

The agents need to understand what Barça can do in terms of proposals, structure of the deal, and all these kind of things. Barça feel that Dani Olmo wants to go there, but we know that Barcelona are also busy with outgoings. They probably need to do something, especially if they want to bring in two players in offensive positions.

And so what’s important to remember is the situation of Raphinha, in terms of official proposals. There has been nothing from Al-Ahli, no formal bids, no official proposals.

Some intermediaries approached Raphinha and people close to him to understand if he wanted to start discussions over a potential Saudi move. If he was ready to open the door and then, in that case, go and negotiate with them.

What I’m hearing is that the answer of Raphinha was very clear; “no, thanks.”

He wants to continue in Europe. He wants to continue in Barcelona. He’s convinced that this season he can do great things, and he was very happy with his development in the second and final part of the season last year. He did very well, especially in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain.

We’ll have to see what happens in the next weeks, because August for Barça could be very busy.

Aaron Ramsdale waiting for goalkeeper ‘domino’

It’s completely quiet now with regards to Aaron Ramsdale.

There have been no new movements or updates for a while now, so we will have to see what happens later in the window, based on a goalkeepers domino.

If he does end up leaving Arsenal, then yes guys, they could need one more goalkeeper.

After a brilliant season in 2023/24, albeit an unsuccessful one in terms of trophies, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, can be rightly satisfied with the progress that the Gunners are making.

Man City remain the team to beat, and even though no English club in history has ever won the top division five times in a row, there’s a very real possibility that Pep Guardiola could push his side into doing just that.

It’s the task of being the first to stop City from lifting the Premier League trophy since Liverpool managed it in 2020 that will ensure laser focus from Arteta throughout 2024/25.

Arsenal ace, Aaron Ramsdale, still in career limbo

That means there will be no passengers in Arsenal’s quest for glory, and that’s exactly what keeper, Aaron Ramsdale, has been ever since the arrival of David Raya.

Arteta has only given the England international custodian cursory minutes since Raya moved across London from Brentford, and that’s seen Ramsdale’s career take a bit of a nosedive.

So much so that Fabrizio Romano has yet more bad news for the 26-year-old.

Aaron Ramsdale in action for Arsenal.

“There have been no new movements or updates for a while now, so we will have to see what happens later in the window, based on a goalkeepers domino.

“If he does end up leaving Arsenal, then yes guys, they could need one more goalkeeper.”

Where once clubs would likely have snapped up Ramsdale if they knew he were available, that lack of minutes and match fitness is obviously counting against him.

It may well be that the keeper has to either accept being second fiddle to Raya for the foreseeable future or moving to a new club that perhaps might not have been top of his list.

Arsenal are yet to decide the future of Aaron Ramsdale.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper has fallen down the Gunners’ pecking order after the club agreed to sign David Raya from Brentford. Although initially bringing the Spaniard in on loan at the start of last season, the London-based giants have since made the keeper’s switch permanent in a deal worth £27 million (Sky Sports).

Arsenal open to Aaron Ramsdale loan

And with Ramsdale unlikely to accept a back-up role again next season, there is an expectation that the Stoke-born shot-stopper will leave the Emirates. Although strongly linked with Newcastle United, Ramsdale has yet to see a formal offer made, and according to Football Insider, this could force Arsenal into agreeing to a late loan deal instead.

Aaron Ramsdale has lost his Arsenal place to David Raya.

Newly promoted Southampton and Nottingham Forest are believed to be the two sides most interested in a loan for Ramsdale.

Mikel Arteta, who said Ramsdale had ‘earned respect and admiration’ (GOAL) following his performance against Brentford at the end of last season, is believed to be targeting another goalkeeper to provide competition for 28-year-old Raya.

Feyenoord’s Justin Bijlow is believed to be one of the shortlisted names on the club’s list but the Gunners are likely to face competition from league rivals Liverpool (Mirror).

As for Ramsdale, a move to Southampton or Nottingham Forest would see him become either club’s number one at the expense of Alex McCarthy and Matt Turner, respectively.

Arsenal have set a £30million asking price for the transfer of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as he attracts interest from Nottingham Forest and Southampton this summer, CaughtOffside understands.

Sources close to the situation have informed CaughtOffside that Ramsdale is expected to leave Arsenal this summer as he looks to get back to playing regularly after falling down the pecking order in Mikel Arteta’s side last season, with David Raya now the undisputed number one for the Gunners.

As things stand, it is understood that although Forest and Southampton are interested in Ramsdale, they would not be willing to pay Arsenal’s £30m asking price for the England international, so it remains to be seen if the north London giants will end up lowering their demands, or if anyone else perhaps joins the race and indicates they’d be prepared to pay up.

Aaron Ramsdale to leave Arsenal?

Meanwhile, Arsenal are still interested in signing Wolves ‘keeper Daniel Bentley as their new backup ‘keeper, with talks ongoing despite Arsenal previously seeing two bids rejected for the 31-year-old.

Ramsdale transfer exit to pave the way for Bentley to Arsenal deal?

It is felt that Arsenal and Wolves could end up agreeing a fee under £1million for Bentley, though he could also be offered a new deal to stay at Molineux as he’s also considered a reliable backup ‘keeper there too.

Arsenal will want to ensure they’re not in too much trouble if Raya gets injured or suspended at some point, so bringing in an experienced figure like Bentley could be a useful option.

At the same time, though, Karl Hein has shown some promise in pre-season so far, and some AFC supporters will surely feel the 22-year-old could be good enough to serve as the club’s second choice, without the need for a new signing in that position, even if Bentley should come pretty cheap.

Nottingham Forest is reportedly planning a move for Arsenal’s out-of-favour goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as they search for a new shot-stopper.

Although it may have gone under the radar with many fans seeing it as a foregone conclusion, Arsenal secured the permanent signing of Spanish goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford earlier in the transfer window.

After a shaky start at the Emirates Stadium, the Spaniard slowly found his feet and became pivotal to the overall style of play that Mikel Arteta demanded from his side.

As a result of his permanent signing for the Gunners, it has all but secured the exit of Ramsdale who has essentially been the back-up goalkeeper since September.

But still a great player and only at the age of 26, Arsenal will be keen to make some profit if they are to sell him.

According to reports from the Sun, Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest have expressed an interest in the England international but only on a loan deal.

The report claims that the Gunners have set a £50 million asking price but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side does not have the financial capabilities to reach this valuation and will instead make a late loan push instead.

Ramsdale joined the North London club in 2021 for a reported €28 million but with his deal set to expire in just two years and very little interest shown from other clubs, Forest may see this as the perfect opportunity to test Arsenal’s hand.

Arsenal are considering loaning out Aaron Ramsdale due to a lack of interest in the England international according to reports.

Ramsdale arrived at the Emirates in a surprise move from Sheffield United in 2021, and was the club’s first choice goalkeeper for two seasons.

The England international lost his place in the side to David Raya last season following the Spaniard’s arrival on loan from Brentford, and the Gunners have subsequently made his move permanent this summer.

Arsenal could loan Ramsdale

It’s been a frustrating window for the Gunners so far as they look to strengthen their squad to make sure they don’t come up short again in the Premier League title race.

Benjamin Sesko opted to remain at RB Leipzig rather than move to the Emirates, whilst a move for Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori appears to have stalled.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in Spain internationals Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino but have yet to make any serious inroads into a deal for either player.

Aaron Ramsdale in action for Arsenal.
Ramsdale is likely to leave the Emirates having lost his place to David Raya.

Outgoings will also be key and the Gunners have a number of players they are looking to offload.

Ramsdale is expected to leave the Emirates this summer, with Arsenal believed to value him at around £40m.

However, HITC report that the north London club could look to loan the 26-year-old as there hasn’t been much interest at their valuation.

The report adds that the club are open to selling the goalkeeper, but the asking price has so far put off potential suitors.

It appears that Ramsdale, who was part of the England squad for Euro 2024 doesn’t have a huge number of options this summer.

The shot stopper was linked with a move to Newcastle earlier in the summer, but a move to St James’ Park never materialised, and he’s recently been linked with a move to newly promoted Southampton.

Ramsdale needs to leave Arsenal and kick start his career in a new environment where he’s going to play regular football.

Southampton are considering a move for out of favour Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale according to reports.

Ramsdale is expected to leave the Emirates this summer having lost his place to David Raya last season, and Arsenal have now made the Spaniard’s loan move permanent.

With Euro 2024 now out of the way the 26-year-old can think about his future and decide what the next best step for his career would be.

Southampton consider Ramsdale move

The England international had been linked with a move to Newcastle earlier in the summer, but that won’t be happening after the Magpies signed Odysseas Vlachodimos from Nottingham Forest.

However, The Sun report that newly promoted Southampton are considering a shock bid for the Arsenal star, with the Gunners possibly wanting as much as £30m for the goalkeeper.

Aaron Ramsdale in action for Arsenal.
Ramsdale is likely to leave the Emirates this summer.

Southampton have had a good start to the transfer window with Taylor Harwood-Bellis making his move for Manchester City permanent, whilst the Saints have also signed Adam Lallana.

The report adds that Mikel Arteta’s side would love to keep Ramsdale as their number two, but understand the situation he finds himself in, and it’s also claimed Arsenal would consider a loan if no club meets their valuation.

The Gunners have already identified possible replacements for the Englishman, and saw a bid rejected by Wolves for Dan Bentley, whilst Espanyol’s Joan Garcia is also said to be attracting interest.

Ramsdale has been at the Emirates since 2021 following a surprise move from Sheffield United, and has gone on to make 89 appearances for the Gunners, but was limited to just 11 appearances in all competitions last season, with just six of those coming in the Premier League.

Arsenal are yet to sign anyone and are currently trying to conclude a deal for Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, but the transfer fee is believed to be holding proceedings up, with the Italy international keen on the move.
