Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke has gained significant traction, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano providing an exciting update.

Linked with Solanke for some time, the North London club’s interest has intensified over the past week.

Despite Solanke’s £65 million release clause, Tottenham are said to be exploring alternative solutions. Previous reports have suggested that Spurs are preparing an offer worth £50 million plus a player to entice Bournemouth into a deal.

The player himself is reportedly keen on the move, with Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou said to be actively driving the pursuit.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now shared the latest on the move, confirming that talks between the two clubs are underway, with Tottenham pushing to finalise the deal.

Solanke has given the ‘green light’ to Spurs, and it is now up to the club to reach an agreement with Bournemouth.

He shared the following update on X:

“Understand Tottenham are pushing to get Dominic Solanke deal done, talks underway with Bournemouth. Solanke has given the green light to Spurs as negotiations are ongoing to find an agreement. Tottenham want Solanke, as exclusively revealed last week.”

Solanke’s impact at Bournemouth

Since his arrival at Bournemouth in January 2019, Solanke has delivered impressive performances. During the 2020-21 season, he netted 15 goals, becoming the joint-top scorer for the club in the Championship.

He continued his goalscoring form the following season, where he scored 29 goals and provided 7 assists, playing a crucial role in Bournemouth’s promotion back to the Premier League.

Last season, Solanke set a personal record with 19 goals in the Premier League, further solidifying his status as a top-tier striker.

His goal-scoring ability and consistent performances make him an appealing option for Tottenham as they look to strengthen their attack.

Crystal Palace secured a crucial victory against West Ham in a 4-3 thriller at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

West Ham took the lead early on in the game through Tomas Soucek’s goal from a corner. However, Palace responded with three quick goals in the space of 15 minutes from Jordan Ayew, Wilfried Zaha, and Jeffrey Schlupp to go 3-1 up. Michail Antonio pulled one back for West Ham before halftime to make it 3-2.

The second half was less eventful, with Eze scoring a penalty for Palace to make it 4-2 before Aguerd reduced the deficit for West Ham. Palace held on to their lead and picked up another important win.

Since Roy Hodgson took over from Patrick Vieira, Crystal Palace has been on an upward trajectory, winning five and drawing one of their last six games.

While Hodgson has shown excellent managerial qualities, a clip shared by BT Sport showed his first touch might not be as good. The clip shows him channeling his inner Lukaku, with the 75-year-old failing miserably to control the ball during the game.

Yay! Spurs beat Nottingham Forest and so everything is good again. What joy, count me in for Formula One branded go-cart tickets… or maybe things require a tad more thought. Maybe Tottenham Hotspur Football Club needs to stop peddling commercial sponsorships as achievements and revisit the core aspect of the business. Who knows? All I know is that failing to ‘get a tune’ out of successive serial winners is a legitimate cause for concern.

Are you not concerned about the way this club is being run, or are you quite willing to suck back on the ENIC Kool-Aid?

A source close to the player says that Bryan Gil is currently living in a nightmare in England. What began as a dream for the young winger from Cádiz has turned into an untenable situation for him both in football and personally. And from which Tottenham seems to have ignored.

Bryan barely plays, but THFC won’t approve a loan either. It is also alleged that even after the signing of Danjuma that Spurs won’t authorize the Spaniard’s exit from N17, be it on loan or via a sale. Consequently, the footballer is frustrated. Relevo has been in contact with those described as closest to the footballer.

“It’s not good in England. He has no motivation to go to train, he’s not happy, and he doesn’t understand why they won’t let him out. “It doesn’t matter what options he puts on the table to leave, they [THFC] prefer to have him without playing. He is pressing by all means because he needs to leave. Tottenham doesn’t care if Bryan is in bad spirits. The situation has reached such a point that the man from Cádiz does not care where he goes, he just wants out.”

This week, it was spotted the player had altered the appearance of his Instagram account, removing all references to Spurs as well as swapping out an avatar image of himself in a Spurs shirt with one of him playing for Spain.

Given the boy is evidently too lightweight for this division, surely the sensible thing to do is to let the boy go out on loan at least. Or perhaps Daniel Levy is uncertain as to who his first team coach will be after the summer, and is therefore hedging his bets.

Either way, with recent reports that Djed Spence isn’t pulling up trees in training, either, it looks to be the case that the Hotspur Way isn’t quite as magical as some had believed.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I’m struggling to generate much enthusiasm for the announcement we’ve loaned in Danjuma.

This is a 25-year-old who has only demonstrated a goalscoring proficiency in the Championship, and if you believe that this attacker might compensate with assists and other appetite whetting talents you would be mistaken.

The idea that Antonio Conte specifically wanted the player is frankly implausible, simply on the basis of priorities elsewhere in his squad. What we have here is a moderate footballer who, in his La Liga career overall, he has appeared 33 times in the competition, with just 12 goals scored and three assists.

Villa Real only paid €20million for the boy and would appear that they have seen enough.

Welcome to Tottenham Hotspur.

Fulham away would ordinarily not be a must-watch game for Tottenham, but this evening, all eyes will be on Antonio Conte’s charges, who have, in recent weeks, been serving up mostly relegation-form football.

In particular, captain Hugo Lloris has proven to be unreliable, putting his recent howlers down to mental and physical struggles after a packed Christmas schedule that included a World Cup final.

Spurs owe the Frenchman a rest and now might be the time to do that. Elsewhere, it is surely past due for us to see something of Djed Spence in the right wing-back spot, or what was he bought for?

Conte needs to mix it up, so what are your picks, or have you given up the ghost?!

Destiny Udogie was identified by Tottenham’s scouts and Daniel Levy for once, didn’t hesitate; the North London side secured the twenty-year-olds signature in a deal worth £ 15 million rising to £18million. At this stage, Tottenham could do with some good news and specifically in terms of filling the creative void that has slowly but surely become apparent in N17. Udogie joins Spurs in time for next season.

I have to confess I’m a cynic when it comes to these youth player deals. They are routinely billed as the next big thing, without much critical thinking in the mix. However, Destiny looks to me to be the real deal. He really is an exciting player.

This tape is a compilation of all the boys’ smart passes from 2022.

What do you think, or have I lost my actual mind?

Full-time at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium saw one supporter lose their mind and probably the ability to attend future games. The ‘fan’ clambered over the advertising hoarding and managed to get a kick into the Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsey’s back.

Quite how anyone in an arena packed with CCTV, broadcaster cameras, dozens of photographers, and thousands of people with smartphones would seek to do anything so daft is beyond me.

After the kick, the fan scrambled back into the block and scuttled away head down. One would imagine he will spend the rest of the weekend helping the police with their enquiries.

Rumours are swirling around of Harry Kane ripping into his teammates yesterday afternoon. One heated source reported to me that Conte has threatened to quit. Tony and Levy are set to have a fascinating conversation the next time they speak to each other.

Especially given this line from the gaffer after the loss to Villa:

“I don’t want to talk about fans expectations, I know the vision of the club, the club knows very clear about my thoughts”.

Tony has created a very clear divide between himself and the club, as entities. This isn’t necessarily grounds for another End Of Times at Tottenham, but it certainly feels as if everyone’s reached the sort of impasse that will end in tears.

Conte has safeguarded his reputation, to a degree, but Spurs will point to the fact that the Italian wasn’t brought to the club either kicking and screaming or under false pretenses.

We play Crystal Palace away next, on Wednesday evening. Then it’s Portsmouth in the cup, followed by runaway league leaders Arsenal, at home. Should be fun!

Speculation over Antonio Conte’s Tottenham contractual situation will run and run. My prediction is that we won’t get a definitive answer from the Italian until after the season’s end.

Pondering the possible benefits of the January window, and the influence it might have is surely the dream of a child. Yes, in a parallel universe, Spurs could replicate the successes of last winter and bring in two players that can immediately do a job and generate excitement. However, if one looks across the last decade or more, our new year business is ordinarily unremarkable. Add to the equation that Fabio Paratici is currently operating in the shadow of legal action from the Italian courts, and things don’t improve.

It is far more likely that Conte will pin his decision on a window that traditionally offers big budgets and the involvement of most other clubs.

The real issue, which carries more of an echo of the unstoppable force versus the immovable object; is where punt purchasing Levy and ambitious to win silverware Conte might ‘meet in the middle’, is a meeting of minds even feasible? It’s clear that the likes of Djed Spence and Papa Sarr are not what Antonio wants.

Does mother really know best, because Spurs don’t win anything, they simply tread money, for ENIC.

With any luck, we are heading towards a bend or break moment, from which there can only be one winner. My money, my prediction, and it is my view that Levy has no choice but to guarantee this serial winner at least a few of the players he needs. Should our beloved chairman prove intransigent in this respect, and refuse to bend, then the situation will produce a break. This means back to the world of pain that ensued when Mourinho was fired, for also being right.
