West Ham will only move for Trippier if Wan-Bissaka deal breaks down

Talks with Aaron Wan-Bissaka continue for West Ham and he remains their priority for the right-back position, although it is a complicated deal to get over the line.

Despite the rumours, I’m not aware of talks for Arnau Martinez, and Kieran Trippier will only be an option if the Wan Bissaka deal falls through.

There’s no imminent move for Vladimir Coufal either from what I heard.

Chalobah will take his time and choose the best option

On Trevoh Chalobah’s situation, Crystal Palace are interested but it’s the same with clubs from abroad.

Chalobah will take his time to decide what will be the best opportunity for him.

What I’m told too is that Crystal Palace also have Lacroix on their shortlist, a player that’s really appreciated by Glasner.

So, a decision will be made once Marc Guehi’s future is clarified as talks with Newcastle are still ongoing, not done yet.

De Gea has a verbal agreement with Fiorentina

David de Gea is back, guys.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper, finally back after more than almost 13/14 months with no activity on the pitch, is gonna play in Serie A.

Let’s wait for the signature because we know that with agents it’s always kind of dangerous on the market, but the verbal agreement is in place.

David said yes to Fiorentina. One year contract plus one year option, €2m net salary plus €1m in add-ons.

Good luck to David, after a long time out of the game for him.

Arsenal continue working on Nketiah and Merino deals

I also wanted to mention what’s going on at Arsenal, because we know that they are busy with the situation of Eddie Nketiah after selling Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham.

It was kind of a tense situation with Marseille because they had an agreement with the player. Nketiah wants to go to Marseille, he’s open to joining and attracted by the project.

But the negotiations were really tense in the recent days because Marseille had a new bid rejected and so they started exploring other options.

What they are doing now is to renegotiate again with Arsenal for Eddie Nketiah.

What I’m hearing is that they presented a new proposal in the last 24 hours, but now they want to close the deal only at their conditions – because they already spent other money in other positions.

Remember that Arsenal are also working to close the deal for Mikel Merino.

He hasn’t been called up for Real Sociedad’s next game because they say that he’s not 100 percent fit, but we know the transfer is behind this story because Mikel Merino has an agreement with Arsenal.

The contract is already agreed. The player said yes. He knows that Mikel Arteta wants him. This is the reality.

Arsenal have been closing in on the deal since last week, but they need to agree on the payment structure, payment terms, so a work in progress.

Barca pushing for Nico but Athletic are relaxed

Lots of questions still regarding Nico Williams, and as I wrote on Substack yesterday guys, no changes…

Barça keep calling Nico’s agent, but at the moment Athletic Club remain completely confident and optimistic to keep him at the club.

They are sure that Nico will end up staying. Barça have a dream and they are trying to make it a reality, but Athletic are currently relaxed.

Still chances for Ivan Toney to find a new club

I think there’s still a chance for a move to happen this summer for Ivan Toney.

There could be movements in the next days and weeks, but there’s nothing imminent so far.

We have to see about which clubs have a concrete interest, because about 10 different clubs have been rumoured to be interested in him this summer.

I don’t want to put out names without any concrete updates but, for sure, it’s still an open situation.

Richarlison’s focus won’t change Tottenham’s plans for Solanke

There are no changes to Tottenham’s plans on signing Dominic Solanke, despite Richarlison wanting to stay.

Solanke remains the priority target.

Richarlison is fully focused on Spurs and Tottenham were already aware of this so his situation doesn’t change the plan to bring in more players.

It’s never easy to negotiate with Bournemouth but Spurs are trying.

Chris Smalling could be on the move this summer

No concrete talks are taking place for Chris Smalling now but it’s yet another open case.

Roma are looking for a new centre-back and Smalling could leave in the case of a good proposal for both Roma and the player.

Jadon Sancho’s situation is still wide open

I wanted to finish by mentioning Jadon Sancho. It’s important to say that his situation too remains open.

He is 100 percent part of the Man United team, but in case of a formal proposal in the next three weeks, there could still be movement for Jadon Sancho.

Man United could be open to doing business and the player could also be open to the move, so it all depends on the proposals.

Now, everything is okay, but PSG and others have been making contact with Sancho’s agents.

Still no bid but the situation is one to watch until the end of the window.

Ange Postecoglou will be acutely aware of how important getting in some new faces at Tottenham before the start of the new season is.

The North Londoners were almost nailed on for a finish in the Champions League places last season, but an horrendous end to the campaign saw Aston Villa finish in fourth in their stead.

It might well be a blessing for a team that are still emerging under the Australian, given the extra load that will be placed on the playing staff, however, the associated extra money could’ve opened up more commercial possibilities for the club and, potentially, seen the manager handed a bigger transfer pot.

Tottenham aware of striker’s transfer position

In any event, Spurs remain on the trail of Bournemouth’s brilliant centre-forward, Dominic Solanke.

He’s believed to not come cheaply, and that perhaps might’ve gone some way to explaining why the club appeared to accede to a move for Richarlison.

Recent news has indicated the the Brazilian striker isn’t interested in a move to Saudi Arabia, however, thus denying Spurs the chance of recouping around £60m.

Any thoughts that this could see the move for Solanke hit the buffers is wide of the mark.

“There are no changes to Tottenham’s plans on signing Dominic Solanke, despite Richarlison wanting to stay,” Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside for his exclusive Daily Briefing.

“Solanke remains the priority target. Richarlison is fully focused on Spurs and Tottenham were already aware of this so his situation doesn’t change the plan to bring in more players.”

If Richarlison continues to rebuff all offers for his services, it will be interesting to see if his manager goes with a front two to accommodate the Brazilian and Solanke, should the latter arrive, or if the former is relegated to the bench and forced to fight for a starting place.

Tottenham forward Richarlison has revealed that an offer has arrived for him from Saudi Arabia ahead of the Premier League kicking off next week but the Brazilian doesn’t plan on accepting it.

Spurs have been in the market for a new number nine this summer and over the past week have been linked to Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke and Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

The North London side are expected to add one of these to their ranks before the transfer window shuts and that has cast doubt over the future of Richarlison as it means that the Brazilian is likely to spend the upcoming campaign on the bench.

The Brazil international will not be happy about this and it was reported by Football Insider this week that Tottenham are hoping to ship the 27-year-old to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Richarlison has been at Tottenham since 2022 having made the £60m switch from Everton but it is a transfer that has not worked out for anyone. The forward has struggled to live up to expectations in North London and it seems that Postecoglou doesn’t count on the player a lot ahead of the new season as the Spurs boss prepares for the arrival of new number nine.

However, the Brazilian has now admitted that he doesn’t intend on moving to the Middle East this summer, no matter the money that is offered to him.

Speaking about the links to Saudi clubs this summer, Richarlison has admitted that he has refused to move to the Middle East this summer as he wants to get back into the Brazilian national team having been dropped for the 2024 Copa America.

“There has been an offer from Saudi… but my dream of playing for the Brazilian Seleção and in the Premier League speaks louder,” the forward told ESPN Brasil via Fabrizio Romano. “The money is big but my dreams are bigger”.

This is an admirable decision from Richarlison ahead of the new season getting underway next week as the former Everton star seems determined to fight for his spot in Ange Postecoglou’s team throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

Tottenham are ready to sell Richarlison this summer should the North London club complete a deal for Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke.

Spurs are pushing to complete a deal for the striker as Tottenham continue talks with the Cherries to try and come to an agreement over a transfer fee for the 26-year-old.

The London outfit do not want to activate the £65m release clause in Solanke’s contract, reports Football Insider, but states that a deal is advancing for the Englishman to move to Tottenham ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Ange Postecoglou has been searching for a new number nine this summer as the Australian coach was never given a replacement for Harry Kane a year ago when the England international completed a major move to Bayern Munich.

It looks like the Spurs boss has found his man with Solanke coming off the back of the best season in his career.

The striker netted 21 goals and assisted a further four across 42 matches in all competions and will be hoping to improve on this at Tottenham should the forward complete a move given that he will have more talented players around him in North London.

Dominic Solanke’s move to Tottenham is not good news for Richarlison

Should Solanke complete a transfer to Tottenham this summer, Football Insider state that Spurs are confident that they will be able to secure a Saudi Arabian buyer for Richarlison before the summer transfer window shuts.

The Brazil international has been linked to the Middle East throughout the current window but none of the Saudi Pro League teams have made an official move for the forward.

Up front would seem to be an area in which Tottenham Hotspur are fairly light at present, and the Lilywhites will almost certainly need to make a purchase in that area to give themselves a better chance of at least making the top four this season.

Ange Postecoglou’s side were the lowest scorers in the Premier League’s top seven clubs in 2023/24, and that clearly needs to be addressed by the Australian.

Were it not for a disastrous last few games, then Spurs and not Aston Villa would’ve found themselves in the premier European tournament this season.

Tottenham’s striker domino could be about to start

Rather than dwelling on what might’ve been, it’s far better for the North Londoners to look forward, and in order to help achieve that, there needs to be transfer movement both incoming and outgoing, in order to give the squad some much needed impetus.

According to CaughtOffside columnist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are putting pen to paper on Wednesday to ensure that one striker deal does happen.

Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Romano has indicated that Alejo Veliz will be joining Espanyol on loan for the entirety of the 2024/25 campaign.

Veliz joined the North London outfit a year ago tomorrow, but was loan out to Spanish top-flight side, Sevilla, earlier this year.

This latest move would appear to suggest that there’s not much chance of a way back for the player at Tottenham, and it simply gives the Lilywhites room to add one more player to their attack in time for next season.

If the club want Dominic Solanke to join them – and the Bournemouth hit man has been linked by Give Me Sport amongst other outlets – then there may yet have to be another departure or two.

It’s no real secret that Tottenham are looking to boost their firepower up front before the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Lilywhites’ 74 goals scored last season was the worst out of the Premier League’s top seven teams, and though they were often excellent going forward, Ange Postecoglou clearly feels the need to improve in that area.

He recently said as much in a quote picked up by The Standard.

Could Tottenham land brilliant striker before the deadline?

“It’s still the area of the park we’re really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that’s a focus for us,” the Australian noted.

One of the names that’s consistently being mentioned in dispatches is Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke.

The Cherries hit man certainly proved his worth to his current employers last season, with 20 goals scored and three assists provided, per WhoScored.

Tottenham are believed to be interested in Dominic Solanke
Tottenham are believed to be interested in Dominic Solanke

Compare and contrast that with Richarlison, who only managed 11 goals and four assists, the Brazilian’s well publicised mental health issues notwithstanding.

The Standard suggest that any move for Solanke could rest on Richarlison leaving, and that may be because the former would reportedly be a club record capture for the North Londoners.

With less that two weeks to go before the start of the new season, and just over three before the transfer window closes for business until January, clearly Spurs don’t have long to be able to seal any deal.

If Daniel Levy truly wants his club to be up their challenging for the Champions League spots and going deeper into domestic competition, then he needs to give his manager the tools to do the job.

He only need look across at West London neighbours, Arsenal, to see how well they’ve bought and sold over the past couple of seasons.

Ange Postecoglou has an eye on Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke to lead Tottenham’s forward line this season and the striker’s arrival could see Richarlison depart North London.

Spurs never replaced Harry Kane after the England star left the club last summer to complete a major move to Bayern Munich and the Premier League side seem keen to do so before the current transfer window shuts.

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham are keen on Solanke and have held talks with the player over a move. The 26-year-old has a £65m buy-out in his Bournemouth contract, but no club has been willing to match this so far.

The Cherries star is coming off the back of the best season of his career as he scored 21 goals and assisted a further four across 42 games in all competitions.

The signing of Solanke would improve Tottenham should he continue on his current trajectory and it would also allow Postecoglou to keep Son Heung-min on the left, where he is best.

There is a long way to go before the signing of the Bournemouth star is complete and if the Englishman does arrive, that could see Richarlison depart Spurs before the window shuts.

Dominic Solanke is attracting interest from Tottenham
Dominic Solanke is attracting interest from Tottenham

What would Dominic Solanke’s arrival mean for Richarlison at Tottenham?

Richarlison has been at Tottenham since 2022 having joined the North London outfit as part of a £60m deal with Everton. The Brazilian’s time at Spurs has not gone to plan as the forward has been largely underwhelming.

Last season was the Brazilian’s best at Spurs as the 27-year-old netted 12 goals and assisted a further four across 31 matches in all competitions.

Should Solanke arrive, the former Everton star is unlikely to be a starter and therefore, could look to leave the Premier League club as his future at present is already certain.

According to Football Insider, the 27-year-old is happy at Spurs and has no plans to leave the North London club before the transfer window shuts, however, that can change very quickly.

The Brazil international has been widely linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League and it is believed that interest remains in the forward, which could come into play later this month.

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara believes striker Dominic Solanke would be an ‘upgrade’ on Richarlison.

Spurs sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer but didn’t sign a replacement striker, instead using the likes of Son Heung-min and Richarlison as centre-forwards.

Both players fared well, with Son scoring 17 Premier League goals and Richarlison 11. However, the former is arguably far more effective as a winger, while the latter has struggled to consistently do the business since joining from Everton.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with Bournemouth striker Solanke this summer following a wonderful 2023/24 campaign in which the former Chelsea and Liverpool man notched 21 goals across all competitions, including 19 in 38 Premier League appearances.

O’Hara gives verdict on Solanke

According to a report from Football Insider in April, Bournemouth value Solanke at £50m. If anything, that figure will only have risen given the 26-year-old scored three goals in his final six starts of the campaign, although there are rumours of a £65m release clause in his contract.

But O’Hara believes Solanke — who is also thought to be drawing interest from Arsenal and former club Chelsea — would be well worth the investment and would constitute an ‘upgrade’ on Richarlison.

“I think it’s a great signing,” O’Hara told talkSPORT. “I think he’s really good. Big season last season. I think he’d do well for Spurs.”

The former midfielder — who came through the Tottenham youth system and made 56 senior appearances for the club between 2007 and 2009 — added: “The problem he’s got with Richarlison, he can finish, he knows where the net is. But his link-up play comes off him too much.

“It goes into him, little one-twos and that around the box. He’s not clever enough. And that for me, he’s got to work on.

“I’m hoping Ange has got into him and been like, look I need you to step up if you’re gonna play number nine for us. You’ve got to be that player.

“But Solanke’s link-up is really good. You can stick it into him, runners will play off him. You know you can get Son beyond him but he’s got pace as well, he can finish.

“I think he’s an upgrade. I think he’d be a really good player for us.

“In January there was talk about the potential of him moving on. He was doing well. Bournemouth didn’t want to let him go because I think they’re worried about relegation.

“I think now would be a great time to get Solanke, I really like him. I think he’s a decent signing.”

Tottenham forward Richarlison isn’t pushing to leave the club according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, despite interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Richarlison arrived at Spurs from Everton in a deal worth £60m in 2022, but has struggled to find his best form in north London.

Despite an improvement last season which saw him score 11 goals and provide four assists in 28 Premier League appearances, questions have been raised about his future.

Richarlison not pushing to leave Spurs

The Brazil international has been linked with a move to Saudi side Al-Ahli, but as of yet nothing serious has materialised in regards to an exit.

The 27-year-old is under contract at Spurs until 2027, but with the club yet to sign an out and out forward in the window he could be set for a big role under Ange Postecoglou next season.

Earlier in the summer it had been reported that Richarlison was one of the names that Spurs would be prepared to sell this summer.

Richarlison in action for Tottenham.
Richarlison scored 11 Premier League goals last season.

However, Bridge has reported that the Brazilian isn’t pushing to leave north London and if Spurs were thinking about letting him go they would want close to the £60m they paid two years ago.

“There is interest from Saudi Arabia, but I don’t think he is pushing for a move, I think he did okay under Postecoglou last season,” he told GIVEMESPORT.

“Injuries played a part in it being stop-start, but he went on a fantastic run over the Christmas period.

“I think it would have to take a decent bid for Spurs to consider selling Richarlison because it’s a long season ahead in the Europa League and Postecoglou has been happy with him, but that might be one to wait and see if a club comes in for him.

“The only interest has been from Saudi Arabia at the moment. I don’t think Tottenham would want to sell him for less than what they bought him for from Everton.”

Richarlison is currently with the Spurs squad on their pre-season tour of Japan and Korea as they continue their preparations for the new season, with a game against Bayern Munich up next.

Though the expectation is surely that Tottenham Hotspur don’t look vastly different as a squad from how they do at the moment, there are clearly one or two areas which need refreshing for Ange Postecoglou ahead of the new season.

From a manager’s perspective, it’s always good to have an evolution of sorts. Even if it’s only the odd change of player here or there, new arrivals bring competition for places.

Tottenham want £60m for Richarlison

Noses may be put out of joint, but that should enable the manager to get the extra five to 10 percent effort out of those players who might’ve been coasting to that point.

There are also sales to consider too, and one player that has been courting a lot of interest in Saudi Arabia is Brazilian striker Richarlison.

Ange Postecoglou could let Richarlison leave Tottenham this summer.
Ange Postecoglou could let Richarlison leave Tottenham this summer.

Though it was understood initially that Richarlison had no interest in moving to Saudi, it’s believed that the 27-year-old may now consider the switch, especially in light of Spurs putting a price – £60m – on his head, thereby indicating that he’s for sale, per The Times (subscription required).

Well publicised mental health problems have been a burden for the player to carry around with him, and a move to Saudi, where the spotlight won’t shine on him so much, could be something that he will now consider.

One might expect that from Postecoglou and Daniel Levy’s point of view, any transfer needs to be completed soonest, in order that the club can plan their strategy for the remainder of the transfer window.

The last thing any club wants heading into their first game of a new campaign is for the team and squad not to be settled.
