Newcastle United could lose one of their key players this summer as Anthony Gordon has been linked with a move away from the club.

Liverpool have been mentioned as his next possible destination and the player is keen on a move but the Magpies have no intention to sell the player this summer.

However, nothing is certain in football and stranger things have happened and to deal with that, Eddie Howe’s team have made a plan about how to replace Gordon if he leaves the club.

According to i News, West Ham United duo Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus will be targeted by Newcastle if they lose Gordon to Liverpool.

The Magpies wanted to sell Gordon to the Reds in order to generate funds to deal with Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

After selling Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson to Brighton and Nottingham respectively, their financial demands were met and they changed their mind about letting Gordon leave.

Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus are being targeted by Newcastle United.

The England international, who is a boyhood Liverpool fan, is now keen on a move to Anfield and should he leave the club, the Magpies will potentially bid for either Bowen or Kudus.

Bowen scored 20 goals last season for the Hammers while Kudus scored 14 times in his debut season for the east Londoners.

Both the players performed brilliantly last season and carried the Hammers attack on their shoulders.

Can West Ham allow Bowen or Kudus to join Newcastle United?

West Ham would not want to lose an important member of the starting line up but if they receive a good offer, they can cash in on them, considering they have already signed two more attack minded players this summer in Crysencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme.

Gordon scored 11 goals in the league last season and provided 10 assists for the Magpies, showcasing his goal scoring and goal creating abilities.

Howe would want to keep his star player at the club but it all depends on how serious Liverpool are in signing him this summer and what offer they come up with.

Newcastle United have been given a concerning update about one of their top transfer targets this summer.

The Magpies are looking for new players in the transfer market this summer having already signed Llyod Kelly as a free agent.

Eddie Howe’s team suffered an injury crisis last season that affected their season and they missed out on qualification to Europe because of that.

The Magpies hierarchy wants a new right-winger at the club as well as another defender.

Right-wing position is their priority this summer with Howe looking to sign a player who can form a solid partnership with Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon in attack.

They have been linked with a move for West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen, however, it would not be easy for them to sign him this summer.

HITC Football insider Graeme Bailey told Geordie Boot Boys:

“Bowen to Newcastle is an absolute non-starter,” he said.

“Tottenham have asked about Bowen and were told that he is absolutely not for sale. It would be well over £100million if they did try and come in for him. And if Tottenham can’t get him, then Newcastle can’t get him either.

“I’m told there’s very little interest from Bowen in a move to Newcastle. He’s got a lot of ties in London, while the money he is on at West Ham is comparable to what Bruno Guimaraes earns at Newcastle.

“The player is not pushing for a move, and West Ham do not want to sell him. Obviously every player has a price, but you would have to be a top four team to be able to pay it.

“He would be a brilliant signing for Newcastle – he would fit in wonderfully well. But he will not be playing for Newcastle United next season.”

It looks highly unlikely now to see Bowen playing for Newcastle United next season.

He would be the ideal signing for them and he is someone who would have taken their attack to the next level, adding his creativity and goal scoring ability to the team.

The Magpies would have to look at other options to strengthen their right-wing position.

West Ham star Jarrod Bowen has no interest in joining Newcastle this summer despite interest from the Magpies according to reports.

Bowen, who is currently with the England squad at Euro 2024 had a brilliant season for the Hammers scoring 16 Premier League goals as West Ham secured a top half finish.

The England international is under contract at the London Stadium until 2030, but his performances have attracted the interest of a number of clubs including Newcastle and Liverpool.

Bowen not interested in joining Newcastle

Having made sure they are compliant with profit and sustainability rules through the sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson the Magpies can now turn their full attention to strengthening a squad which missed out on European football last season.

Newcastle are known to be in the market for attacking reinforcements and the likes of Bowen and Chelsea’s Noni Madueke are believed to be two names under consideration.

Bowen joined West Ham from Hull City in 2020 and has gone on to establish himself as a key player for the Hammers making 202 appearances to date, scoring 60 goals and providing 39 assists.

Bowen is attracting interest from Newcastle this summer.

HITC report that Bowen is happy at the London Stadium and is “uninterested” in a move to St James’ Park, and even a lucrative offer from the north east wouldn’t tempt him.

With Miguel Almiron looking set to join the Saudi Pro League Newcastle have identified the 27-year-old as one of their main targets.

HITC add that the Hammers would likely ask for a fee of more than £100m for the former Hull star, and that sort of figure is almost certainly beyond the realms of possibility for Newcastle.

Newcastle United appear set to miss out on summer transfer target Jarrod Bowen.

The Magpies are believed to be prioritising signing a new right-sided winger, and after missing out on Michael Olise, who joined Bayern Munich, have reportedly turned their attention to West Ham’s Bowen.

According to recent reports, including this one from the Northern Echo, the Geordies are hopeful they can reinvest the funds received from Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson’s recent sales into signing a new wide-attacker.

However, signing 27-year-old Bowen seems unlikely, as according to HITC, the Hammers’ number 20 has ‘little interest’ in joining Eddie Howe’s project.

Newcastle are looking to sign a winger this summer and have drawn up a three man shortlist according to reports.

The Magpies finished seventh last season but missed out on European football completely due to Manchester United’s FA Cup success.

Eddie Howe will need his squad strengthened in the upcoming window if Newcastle are going to get back into Europe next season and bridge the gap to the top four.

Newcastle are believed to be targeting four signings, a goalkeeper, centre back, striker and right winger.

The Magpies missed out on Tosin Adarabioyo to Chelsea, but hope to complete the signing of Lloyd Kelly, whilst they have also identified Burnley’s James Trafford as their priority target between the sticks.

Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy have operated on the right side of the attack for the majority of the past two seasons, but with major doubts over the future of the Paraguay international a new right winger is needed.

Newcastle have reportedly drawn up a three man attacking shortlist with Summerville one of the names to feature.

The Athletic report that Newcastle have drawn up a three man shortlist of Jarrod Bowen, Crysencio Summerville and Nico Williams.

It an ambitious set of targets but the trio would certainly improve Newcastle’s attack, although there’s the small issue that all three could be out of Newcastle’s price range.

It will be interesting to see how much money the Magpies have to spend this summer, and given their issues with profit and sustainability the sale of one of their star players can’t be ruled out.

Bowen is tied down at West Ham until 2030, Williams is under contract at Athletic Bilbao until 2027, whilst Summerville’s deal expires in 2026 which could make any potential moves difficult.

Of the trio Summerville is arguably the most attainable given Leeds are likely to need to sell following their failure to get promotion to the Premier League, with the 22-year-old reportedly valued at around £30m.

Next season is a huge opportunity for Howe’s men, and without European football they can fully focus on the league and try and get back into the Champions League.

West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen has been warned that he could be dropped from the England squad for the upcoming European championships.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for West Ham and he has certainly impressed with his performances in the Premier League consistently.

However, England are well-stocked in the attack and talkSPORT pundit Perry Groves believes that Bowen could be axed from the squad. It will certainly come as a cruel blow for the West Ham attacker who will be hoping to represent his country in the European championships.

The West Ham attacker has 20 goals and 10 assists to his name in all competitions this past season and he has done everything in his power to ensure that he is selected in the England squad for the upcoming Euros. Missing out on the tournament would be a devastating blow for the player. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Sunday (2 June, 15:31) he said: “James Maddison didn’t have any space or area to play in so he started dropping deeper and deeper.

There is no doubt that the 27-year-old is a quality player, and he could be a game-changer for England off the bench. The right-sided winger is likely to be behind Bukayo Saka in the pecking order and the Arsenal winger is likely to be given preference ahead of him.
